I once read that, if you have a good idea, at least ten other people have already it and are working on it.I wouldn’t know what that feels like. I’ve never had a good idea.
A common thought, Janis. In fact, in the 1920s, a law was introduced (but not passed, obviously) abolishing the U.S. Patent Office – because, obviously, everything that could be invented, had been.
When I was a kid back in the 60’s, I had a great idea about putting wiper arms on the rear windows of station wagons, and thought I could sell the idea to General Motors. I was so disappointed when I saw a Volvo or Saab station wagon for the first time about a year later.
When I was about five years old and unable to handle a wheelbarrow, I “invented” a two-wheel model for better stability. Really disappointed when I saw one in a show window of a department store less than a year later.
I see ear-plugged people everywhere: biking, hiking, jogging, walking, even just sitting in the park. Doesn’t anybody just enjoy the sounds of nature anymore?
I used to wear my big earphones with my little MP3 player back in college almost twenty years ago for the same reason. I got plenty of stares, but my ears were warm.

Sorry Janis, they were offering those way, way back in 1982; they were intended for use with the then-new and trendy Sony Walkman.

Not all good ideas reap monetary rewards. You married a great guy, didn’t you.

An App that doesn’t allow any political content to reach you. I’d rather not know when the fireball is going to consume me…
