The solar storm of 1859 (also known as the Carrington Event) was a powerful geomagnetic solar storm during solar cycle 10 (1855–1867). A solar coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth’s magnetosphere and induced one of the largest geomagnetic storms on record, September 1–2, 1859.
The only thing affected is the telegraph technology which was growing.

Now imagining it happens in 2019? Think of the effects on our world it would have if it was of that magnitude?

I don’t go to the App Store on my iPhone that often, but I don’t think there’s an actual telegraph app… just a Morse code learning app.

Tony asked, about 2 hours ago
Are you bored?
No – just a little tired. I do enjoy that the update time today is back to normal, though.

Gosh! Nobody said Elliot’s using a telegraph app!
Whatever app he is using,
Peter says the telegraph revolutionised communication in a similar way.
Kyle…. are you on an iPhone? Cos most Android apps are FREE. And the others rarely cost more than a dollar or two.
As for smoke signals…. I had a computer that sent some.
Only once though.
And it never sent anything ever again.
Sigh……
Anyhow….. Tony’s Question is….
“Are you bored?”
Bored? ME?
Never!
I am never ever bored…. especially now that I can carry Google in my pocket (on my phone, of course.)
Now had you asked whether I was boring…
Yeah, probably sometimes.
Didn’t I just demonstrate?

Hey, when you’ve hit retirement age, you’ve pretty much heard it all and seen it all. Their just trying to present a product in a new light.

History is lost on today’s youth. Which explains a lot.

No, Tony, I’m not bored; I just don’t seem to be able to get enough sleep these days.
