Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
( click ) Good morning, Mr. Gilchrist. The couple you are looking at are Fritzi Ritz and Phil Fumble, your characters for the last twenty years. With the announcement of your retirement, Phil has (finally) sought Fritzi’s hand in marriage, and Fritzi has accepted. Your mission, Guy, should you decide to accept it (and not change your mind about retirement) is to plan a wedding in less than 48 hours and send the happy couple off to wedded bliss, either for eternity or until another artist decides to take over the strip. As always, should you or any of your Impossible Wedding Force be caught or miss a deadline, the comics strip syndicate secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This sound file will self-delete upon conclusion. Good luck, Guy! ( bleep )
After 75 years, maybe someone needs to take over the strip with Nancy, Sluggo, and their assorted friends as adults (perhaps late teens, early 20s) to continue the saga
I predict a tragic outcome to this story. Considering Phil’s reactions to seeing Fritzi in a bikini (quite understandable, by the way), he has no chance of surviving the wedding night. Shortly after Fritzi’s last piece of clothing hits the floor, Phil will do the same, clutching at his chest and gasping for breath. He’ll die with a smile on his face but he’s a goner, for sure.
I have never, ever, liked Guy’s take on “Nancy,” preferring Jerry Scott’s “hip, ironic” version.
That said, this is the gutsiest thing to come out of the strip in decades, and justifies Guy’s place as the writer. Well played, Guy. Hope Nancy likes having Uncle Phil around.

I just felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of single men suddenly cried out in despair.

When Phil finally began to regain his senses, he thought: “Why am I holding two footballs?”… ☺
