I guess you have to consider the source on that one.

Both uncooked flour and uncooked eggs can be contaminated. Commercial edible cookie dough is specially treated, whether for ice cream or by itself.
On the other hand, the actual incidence of contamination by E. coli or salmonella is thankfully fairly rare.
