At 76, my hearing is just fine. There are times when I wish it werenât so good. I overhear some things other people say out in public that they would not want most people to hear.
Iâm practically-deaf in my right-ear, and about 30% in my left(Cigarette filters werenât all that protective. Earplugs COULD, ironically, cost you your lifeâ-esp. puttinâ them in, when there were more-pressing âthingsâ that needed loaded.) But I gotta admit: Lip-reading isnât all that hard to adapt to. And, itâs quite-useful in hospitals, especially when your doctors & nurses DONâT-know you possess such an abilityâŠ!âș

One of my friends has an implant, says itâs worse than not hearing anything. Nine setting, all bad.
