well, because everyone is rating the comics, I might do it my self. this is just an interdiction to the arc. even though the arc is split in half. and I hope we donāt see the second half. 6/10
Most of the dogs I have had in my life would drive DNA analysis crazy trying to determine their ancestry. Most were very good dogs without the problems that exist in the genetic mistakes called pedigreed.
Big nate skit:Nate: Oh god I cant wait to get my test backMrs. Godfrey: Hereās your test nate.Nate: A 50!Mrs. Godfrey: You know, if you dont get above a 90 on your next test, you will go to summer schoolNate: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Nate probably could do a home test, as statistics show that about 99.9% of at-home dog DNA tests are successful and a reliable way to do it. This could save Nate some money so he wouldnāt have to drain off on his dad. The first panel already shows Francisā disinterest in this topic, with an uninterested look, and saying āHm.ā, which is a common word used to express boredom, along with the light blue color in the background, which resembles ennui, along with him reading a book and paying minimal attention to Nate. This ironically goes along with Nateās interest in this topic shown by his raised eyebrows, and smile. these two character traits consistently go along for the entire strip. In the second panel, it shows only Nate, and a unique background as a way to signify that he is the only one that is really in on this. The second and third panels are setting up the punchline for the joke, which starts out with being someone getting completely unexpected results for a dog DNA test, and the third panel builds more into the real joke, where the half Schnauzer, half Poodle, āSchnoodleā, is turned into a pun by Nate. This joke works because puns usually rely on a surprise factor to be funny, and this does just that, and the pun is also parodying the common mixing of races for humans. This is followed up by Francis saying āGesundheitā, which means to wish good health to a person who has just sneezed, which is fitting because āSchnoodleā sounds like a sneeze, and this shows that Francis is not paying close attention to Nate.
