I was going to say that he’ll be a convert to the way cars once were. I’ve never seen it drawn here but perhaps the Perfessor’s DeSoto has those seats that turn outward to ease your transition into the car. There’s enough room for three people across the seats. The car has vent windows which the manufacturers are too cheap to provide anymore. And you cannot lose a DeSoto on parking lots amongst all those look-alike extrusions out there now.
Ah, the memories of cars past. We all have favorites. My two were opposites. One expensive, gorgeous, powerful. The other cheap, hose-down interior, built like a tank. Miss both.
“They” keep making the spaces smaller as the common size of cars shrinks. I see cars listed as mid-size when they are smaller than a ’60s Dodge Dart, a compact car.
I’ve owned 1 Buick, 3 Dodges, 3 Fords, 1 Austin, 1 Pontiac and briefly a Mercury Comet. The seller of the last put radials on the rear wheels and left bias-ply tires up front. I darn near got killed that night going home in snow.Oddly, I did see the Comet a month or so later parked along a street still wearing its crumpled front fender. I hope the tires were changed.
