He’ll leave you the money for the fabric in his will.
No greater praise from a landlady.
Money for one square of fabric… Andy, you will be dearly missed.

Has any other cartoonist bumped off a character? Ever?
For Better of For Worse killed Farley.
I know they aren’t actual strip characters, but people die quite often in “Diamond Lil”…
And Andy Lippincott is quite likely the only fictional character on the real AIDS quilt.
(Bet you didn’t know he was an Olympic medalist and Nobel Peace Prize recipient.)
Larry, the dog, was killed in “Shirley and Son”.
What I hate about the current format, classics 6 days a week, new ones on Sundays, is that we’ll be denied Andy’s passing. It was a beautiful strip, with him leaving peacefully, finally listening to Pet Sounds on CD.
A moving eulogy.
