Unless I missed it somewhere else in an earlier comic, this also suggests that (because of Alex’s response) that the two of them have been involved together as a couple for more than 9 months at this date.
As with many others… it seems likely that this will end up being a case of donating sperm. But, if so, then the probably sad/harsh next step would be how did the mother then decide to relinquish custody? If this was a purposeful sperm donation to a person who specifically wanted the pregnancy and child…. it seems like there must be some unhappy event coming to change custody.
Women still die more often in child birth in the USA than they ought to. And he might have been bi-curious or more than likely the exogenous donor. He may have even sold it. Still enough to cause a rift in his relationship.
I don’t think it’s because he was a sperm donor. Rather, I’m guessing John was still struggling with his sexuality in the early days of their relationship and likely cheated to “make sure” he was feeling what he was feeling.
