I wonder if Rob Rogers, whose ‘toons started out in Pittsburgh papers, has ever seen my old high school in the East Liberty section of the city. It was called ’Peabody High School’. When I went there, it had a lot of windows and a nice looking fountain with a statue in front of the main entrance. Last I saw it, the only windows were tiny ones on the top floor; everything else was bricked over. Fountain and statue were gone. Looked like an old prison…

Unenforced gun free zones don’t work any better than unenforced speed limits on highways … do they? Unfunded mandates don’t seem to work, but our politicians haven’t been able to comprehend that and continue to create them. I worry that an untrained, underfunded attempt to make our schools “safe” will make things worse … exposing our children to more not less harm.

The second amendment gives every citizen the right to have a tank – Unregulated weaponry is the god-given right of every citizen and if you don’t think so you are going to be deported! Now the President wants to take away all of our tanks then go through due-process to see if we are allowed to get them back. What is the problem with these non-assault vehicles with regular turrets? Do you want the government to take over the United States?

I’m not sure they could hold up to the potholes in Michigan.

Except nobody is shooting up school buses. Even with a heavy police presence it won’t stop a determined shooter from killing children. Shooters have already killed children in playgrounds, have killed guards near metal detectors, and have waited after school to murder kids. As long as our society is saturated in guns we can expect these massacres to continue.

More weapons make everyone safer like more cancer makes everyone healthier.
