The Tide Pod challenge is stupid, I will readily agree. But it is hardly the first example of stupidity across the generations. As far as I know, nobody has died from it yet, so that puts them ahead of many fraternities with their hazing. Back in the early 20th century, some fraternities even tar and feathered their pledges…because that’s smart.
