    Once again….

If you’re here to comment on Sunday’s “Cleo and Company” … for November 29th 2020…

please go back to yesterday’s page and post after the puzzle comments.

    I think we’re all getting it now…

Saturday and Sunday Cleo comments share one day on Ballard Street …

and we’ll use this Monday “Ballard St” page for comments on the Monday, November 30th, 2020 “Cleo and Company.”

Should I stop posting this on Mondays after this, or does anybody like getting the warning?

There is a conclusion here, but not THE conclusion:

    Ok, NOW it’s Monday.

    And … what??!

    I mean WHAT??!!

Sam Basset is holding out on us!

As the Midnight Express keeps clickety-clacking along, through yet a 12th episode on the mystery train!

It’s in the November 30th, 2020 episode of “Cleo and Company” on Sherpa…

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

So Sam doesn’t think the big guy did it… well, as I said, neither did I. But who DID?

It COULD have been the porter, trying to frame poor little Vlad.. Ok, poor big Vlad… by making him look suspicious. After all, the porter also conveniently forgot to mention the throw rug and the door gap.

But I tell you from experience… people who work as porters… and waiters and retail clerks …even hair stylists… (and I’ve been all of those but a porter) .. are all faced with some nasty customers, among the nice ones…

And to last at those jobs, they usually learn how to shrug them off.

I can promise you that the FANTASY of murder, indeed, exists… But the realisation would be exceedingly rare.

A lifetime in jail to get rid of someone who will soon leave anyway just isn’t worth it.

Grace snarls, and tries to sound dangerous, making her too obvious… yet the other two seem pretty unlikely.

    Who the &@¿¥! dunnit??

    And HOW?

Saaay…. where were YOU that night?

Btw… People were discussing someone sneaking in through that slash in the wall… But it seems Sam doesn’t think so…

And anyway, as I pointed out… The window, thus the curtain, and the slash “behind” it…. are in a (probably quite thin) outside wall on a moving train.

Over at C and C – C link above – we are still left with a cliffhanger. And I think Clif did it.

    Sooooooooooooooooooooooo…

I was right about the method after all.

As for who – all of the above (except Vlad) pulling (themselves) together on “3” (whispered)?

well I for one can not wait to see the conclusion to Sam Basset. I think he will say it was the conductor, why? don’t know….But this has got to be the best of the best of the comics on the net. Kudos to Stellbell and associates.

Liverlips was the first to posit the rug theory…

Congrats, Liverlips… even though you guessed it was Vlad.

The rug-pulling might explain the murder… but why isn’t Sam ready to spill all the beans?

I’ll tell you why… sleuth that I am, myself… (blows on fingernails) ,… I have figured out several reasons.

    1) Sam Basset isn’t in the strip on a regular basis… so he demands to star in his arcs for as long as he can.

And we know from reading “Cleo and Company” that nobody around here ever says “NO” to any doggy demands.

    2) We, the faithful audience, love reading Sam’s arcs for as long as we can…. as long as we know we’ll get back to Cleo at some point.

And nobody really says “No” to audience demands, either.

and 3) Nighthawks really really likes drawing that train.

I thought Mr. GC was murdered in his bed! How did he get back in his bed?

And why do I keep hearing Columbo’s voice in a Sam Basset movie!

And, yes….this is perhaps the greatest continuing saga in GC!!!! Thanks Nighthawks!

Starting to wonder if all of them were in on it. They are all afraid that they will be cancelled so they cancelled the fat portly man as a message to the others who seem to run this place.
