I watched the first two shows of Survivor, and haven’t watched a reality show since. A friend of mine was placed in charge of raising the The ship Ehime Maru after it was struck by a submarine. The History Channel or some similar station was filming them; making a documentary. At one point, the producer asked them it they could act like something was going wrong with the operation in order to create drama. My buddy and the captain of the ship told them no.
America’s Funniest Videos is marketing genius. It costs them practically nothing to produce the show. Americans submit videos of themselves behaving like idiots just to be on national tv, so you already have a guaranteed audience. The sponsors pay the network huge sums of money to advertise on a hit show, no need to pay writers, nor actors and the producers are laughing all the way to the bank.

If he were ever to be featured on that show, he would die a happy man.

Reality shows will eventually suffer a slow and painful death, I just hope I live long enough to see it happen.

They should call it for what it really is—“un-reality” TV.

I say to people, “Reality shows have writers – think about that”.

The only thing funnier than idiots on TV is idiots watching idiots on TV.
