This strongly reminds me of my favorite Garfield storyline: http://www.gocomics.com/comics/collections/1720856/garfield-loneliness-denial-weird-storyline-1989 The ominous foreboding, the great use of shadow.
Think I accidentally deleted a thread I’d started, about Dick Tracy “Strips-Within-Strips” ‘The Invisible Tribe’ and ‘Sawdust,’ notable for being mostly-empty panels with word balloons floating within.

To that, I’d intended to add ‘Twin Peaks’ creator/director David Lynch’s “The Angriest Dog In The World,” which recycled the same four panels of art every week …
Actually I think the power outage is only on Sedine’s side. Ellie will notice Sedine has no power and come over to help. Maybe they will finally have the guy talk Sedine has been threatening.

Don’t worry. Clo-Chi is far more dangerous than anything that might sneak in.

A sleeping aid and a glass of wine? No that could be dangerous…throw in an energy drink to balance it out and show that nervous system who’s boss! XD

Sam must be working late, otherwise when the lights went off she’d be clinging to him, maybe out of fear, maybe because Sam’s just lucky. ;)

This reminds me of a short story I’d read, years ago – possibly by Ray Bradbury – about a little boy, alone in the dark.
Not for the squeamish. ✨Vilyehm almost 7 years ago
Ummm… the obvious?
Ellie was not asleep when the power went out.

Since I can’t recall the title of that particular story, here’s another by Ray Bradbury, as dramatized on the late 50’s radio series, “X-Minus One” …

Sam needs to put in for first shift.

I’d suggest cuddling up to her teddy bear, but Sam is off at work.

Also, this may be something of a longshot, but…close your eyes, Sedine.

Easy, cuddle up with Sam :)

Why do I have the feeling Sam is going to come home and find his wife in bed… with Clo-Chi.

… as an example of ‘Creative Repurposing.’
[ Oddly, ‘Luann’ might be re-using old art in the body of some of this week’s strips, though with deliberate, nostalgic intent. ]
The point being, I’d be fine with a few days worth of ‘power outage’ panels, so long as the scripts are funny. ✨

Its dark, you have lots of white noise. Excellent conditions for sleeping.

A rainstorm equal to one done by Giles.

The tree to Ellie’s side looks large enough to have a branch that could support a teenage boy with raging hormones and a pair of binoculars.
