The last dog I had loved going for walks. She would see me putting on my “going for a walk” shoes and be waiting at the door with her tail wagging furiously. Even when she got so sick that she could not walk more than a few steps, she still wanted to go. That week, I had to have her put down because she had stopped eating and drinking. Knew it was the end. She had liver cancer. Still miss her 5 years later.
All I have to do is go to laundry room and they all follow me. Rattle a bag or fill food containers and then open door and out they go.. no walks for my dogs as they got attacked while on the leashes… so its the yard for them…
I found a stray and named her Heidi. She lived to be 15 and when she died, I truly grieved for her. She LOVED to go for walks. It’s been over 33 years and I still miss her. Favorite dog ever. I get how you feel.

“I’m not in the mood for a walk right now”… said no dog ever.

Our dog sometimes refuses to get out of bed to go for a walk, but “Do you want a cookie” will get his attention every time.
