I’m not sure where Scott is taking this civility thread. Perhaps we, the readers, need to set the example for Scott!

We don’t have to agree with each other. It’s probably best that we don’t. If we did agree with each other on everything, then there’d be need for only one of us.

What ways can we, liberals and conservatives alike, can share our views with each other? Again, not asking that we try to “convert” each other, but I am asking that we find ways to share ideas without name-calling or unsubstantiated items being passed as facts.

What can we, readers of Prickly City, come up with to improve the dialog among ourselves and perhaps the rest of the world?

What? We haven’t been civil in our presentations? Seriously it’s hardly degenerated into anarchy, but I get your point.

I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I would like to have a world where people could grow to their full potential, where children are cherished, where men and women are valued for themselves. Where strangers are given respect and the benefit of the doubt as a default. A world where all those who want a roof over their head could get one, a world were people would not have to go to bed hungry. A world were people realize that there are many paths toward a goal and just because someone chooses a different path does not make them wrong. We will all get there in the end and those who take that different path will have a great story to share.
