Yo were provided with an opportunity to display your foolishness. Everything that breathes resents being prodded with sticks. Even the poor!

For a spoiled rich kid he handled being ripped to shreds pretty well…and I’m assuming the Butler enjoyed watching him being ripped to shreds else he would have done something to help him. As cruel as the kid is he was probably (silently) cheering the cat on.

Sometimes you make your own luck. That’s certainly one fairly reliable way.

Talking about being prodded with a stick…NHL playoffs are almost over.

Black Kitty in panel 2 reminds me of the classic Kit Cat Klock.

And two times in a we encounter common sense vs. superstition. Not walking under a ladder is a simple safety precaution; a person might dislodge a ladder with someone on it or which will soon be needed, or something may be dropped, splashed, or spilled.

Today, is based on a superstition that is without foundation, but poking a cat is a bratty behavior that should have long ago been out-learned. Who might Master Nuttingham next prod into mastering him?

Well, at least he seem to have learnt a valuable lesson about cats.

Hope you learned your lesson, Sedgwick.

    Let sleeping beasts lie.

Don’t poke a cat with a stick unless you have a masochistic love of painful scratches and bites.

Don’t tempt Fate. Fate always wins.

We’ve rescued 7 black cats off the streets. It’s been VERY lucky for them, and lucky for us too, if expensive.
