“Grape and raisin (dried grapes) toxicity is well documented in dogs.* Although the exact substance that causes the toxic reaction is not yet known, dogs should not eat grapes and raisins because even small amounts can prove to be fatally toxic for a dog. Dogs of any age, breed, or gender may be affected.”

Marm is spoiled beyond belief! But, it is true raisins are bad for dogs. I looked it up just the other day.

Can’t believe the author did this, people will do this after seeing the cartoon.

Hopefully kids don’t learn from this comic. Raisins are poisonous to dogs. Not a good message.

My mother would come over, and bring sandwich bags full of raisins that she picked out of her Raisin Bran. When I asked her why, she said she didn’t like the raisins. I asked her why she bought RAISIN Bran then. Because the flakes are different from the regular Bran Flakes.

People need to read the URL that RON-AR posted. They “can be” toxic to some dogs. The reasons are not yet understood why not all dogs. There are actually many foods that can be toxic to some dogs. Chocolate is another (https://www.petmd.com/dog/chocolate-toxicity). For more food types, see: https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/people-foods-avoid-feeding-your-pets . A lot of the same foods can also be toxic to cats. I know when I was a kid, we fed our pets table scraps and milk to the cats. It could be there were a lot less chemicals in the food back then (Methuselah and I attended the same grade school :-) ).
