One thing I do know is, despite the oft-quoted Lassie quote, Timmy never actually fell down a well. No, not even once. He fell down a lot of other things, for sure, but amazingly enough, a well is not among the (long) list of troubles he got into.
The show I found more amazing was “The Littlest Hobo”, starring a German Shepherds named ‘London.’ It was filmed in North Vancouver, BC, for the local TV station.
London had a working understanding of the English language and could follow very complex directions from his handler off-camera. Hollywood animal trainers were astounded at his ability.
