For some reason, this reminds me of when I was changing channels at the TV, and my younger brother changed them back with the remote. So I covered the remote sensor with my hand, and he threw the remote at me. Fun times.

I may be wrong (but I don’t think so), but LCD or Plasma screens don’t have that “dot” when they get turned off…
