Verne is playing him like a violin. RJ may finally be waking up to it.

I’m a Hindu and we have 330 million (plus three) gods. And remember, this ‘census’ is from 5-6 thousand years ago. As these gods are immortal and can multiply, we have enough of them to go around. Each human alive can have one or two personal gods!

A different god for every day of the year. Except Janus, he gets two days.

Kinda depends on if you’re talking the Olympus gods or the pagan gods.

My personal favorite god is the God of Chocolate. I’ve convinced everyone in our card group that there are Card Gods – many of us pray to them every Thursday.

When you add the Romans own gods to all the gods of all the people they invaded (and whom the Roman included into their own theology), plus all the goddified leaders, and the home spirits/gods… Maybe sticking to a monotheist religion is a better idea. The Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) is perfect for that. And RJ would make a perfect Pastafarian. (Ramen)

Unlike Christians who believe they’re right and everyone else is wrong (even tho they don’t agree with one another) the “pagans” of Rome didn’t say you were wrong if you worshiped a god they didn’t. Hence… a whole lot of gods depending on what was important to you.

RJ should just worship Dionysus and be done with it.

The Romans didn’t fuss too much about the Jews, because, hey, them furriners is strange. But Christians angered them, because Christians didn’t have the excuse of being an alien ethnic group.
