Sigh, what has happened? In the early sweet days, we would have gotten a tag line telling us the little guy was somehow being generous, like holding the cone to let the elephant enjoy it since: no opposable thumbs. It was those unexpected turns, where you thought something bad was happening but then you found something nice or kind that made Climo’s world exceptional, wonderful, and special. Lately I’ve noticed this dark, predictable turn creeping in more and more. This strip used to be an important counter, and happy little respite, from all meanness in the real world these days. How sorry this place must be that even a mind as bright and positive as Liz’s has succumbed to cynical gloom.
