That whole impeachment thing was a pretty small consequence, apparently. (Then again, Ken Starr faced some consequences for his contemptible behavior at Baylor, at least some of whose students lacked Southern charm—or any charm, or any conscience!)
It was interesting to read the replies to my post, and just in case anybody reads THIS: At the time, there was a lot of talk about Clinton’s impeachment being “censure plus”, which of course is what it turned out to be. And the impeachment was based on something that had NOTHING to do with the Whitewater case, which was what started the whole thing. (Meanwhile, Trump’s money-laundering for decades IS relevant to Mueller’s investigation, and of course so are his fixers—plural, not just Cohen!) I was never a Clinton fan yet I have to believe that the “censure plus” was more than “the smallest of consequences.” (I AM a huge fan of 2PO, of course!) And, no replies about the Baylor culture of rape that Ken Starr was involved with, and fired/resigned (take your pick) for?
Clinton’s impeachment reinforced the idea that Congress can go on a fishing expedition into any private affairs with complete impunity. They had nothing real to go after Clinton for, so they began inventing things.
