Here in Japan, you can buy toilets with seats that automatically lower (and can also get them with lights so you don’t have to turn on the light in the middle of the night). Not to mention the shower toilets. Japanese know how to do toilets the right way. Until you go to a train station and the only toilets are the ones in the floor.
When are architects going to start designing master bedrooms with two toilets? (Preferably each one in a separate alcove, complete with door & exhaust fan.) I can share a tub or a shower with my hubby (if they’re large enough, or else I’ll wait my turn.) I can wait until he’s done with the sink (aka lavatory) but toilet usage sometimes can’t wait for the other one to finish. His & Her sinks/lavatories are nice, but what we need is His & Her toilets! However, NOT quite like the cartoon shows.
Besides, ladies, you have gravity on your side. Be a big girl and put the seat down yourself if it is left up.
I, for one, always put the seat and lid down, but this age-old argument is silly!

I would think women would like for us to leave the seat up so they will know we DID raise it up before we used it.
But, besides that, it is good to keep them down, including the lid, to prevent the rats, snakes and crocodiles from getting into the house.
