My grandmother sewed on a beautiful wooden enclosure treadle machine for years doing her kids clothes – my mother inherited it (had no idea how to use it nor did she want to) and then it went to a sister of mine who is now also deceased. I imagine the old treadle is still being possessed somewhere by someone…
My sister took the machine off the stand/treadle and transformed the stand/treadle into a dining room side table. The machine went to the Thrift Store. Of course, she did this w/o saying a peep to anyone!
