Years ago my parents moved to Raleigh, NC. They found, or were given, a book How to Speak Southern. The book said that’s how it’s pronounced.
Chico: Aww, you can’t fool me. There ain’t-a no sanity clause.
That’s the second time this week I’ve seen the phrase “dad humor” or “dad joke.” Apparently, the term has been around for at least 28 years. Sigh. It also appears that there’s no equivalent “mom humor.”
