This story is twisting and turning brilliantly. I’m beginning to think it’s one of Neathery’s best.

Notice how Velda is the true power behind the throne.Jacob can’t really get along without her. She’s his ‘muscle’ when something not nice needs to be done.

Based on Velda’s comments, she enjoys working with an automatic rather than a wine bottle. The latter she would rather deligate.

Velds\a might be the next Flask in the making. She shows traits that the security rats appreciate.

Alright…. I’m pretty sure that Portia is the butcher. Those calls weren’t for her to give herself up, they were calls for her to get to work.

My opinion, anyway….

I’ve been wrong about a lot, but I remember Portia saying something along lines of this (the conspiracy) being all over and done with, after the hanging of Philo and the elimination of the wolves. I also remember musing that if she ever got another call from the killers, she’d probably completely lose it. And now, Jacob is going to “get the ball rolling” without getting her consent first.

What could possibly go wrong?

Velda ketchups with the cannibals with great relish. But, can she cut the mustard without crushing her buns in those shoes? Man, her dogs must be killing her.

Just for the exercise, imagine that Portia is one of the conspirators—then go back and read from the beginning of this arc (Portia running). Almost everything shown would fit. She could have begun working on manipulating Walt from there. She could have been *spying on Doc and Walt. The phone calls Walt heard could have been staged. All thay so Portia would have protection, like if a weasel with a firearm comes gunning for her. Just as an exercise…as if this story wasn’t convoluted enough. :-)
