Phoebe wants Marigold to promise not to think it’s dumb…but also promise to try and promise to- oh boy this is a REALLY confusing conversation!

…and the lessons in How to Be a FRIEND continue! You made my eyes all blurry, Marigold.

One more: Back at the time when best girlfriends were everything, my best friend and I shared a love of horses and a desire to stand our ground against the “bad boys” on her block; unfortunately, that was about all we shared. I learned a lesson in friendship from my mother: my BF lied to me about something I was wearing, making me feel terrible. When I told my mother (who knew this girls for what she was) what my “friend” said her reply was, “I would never let you go out looking foolish. I would tell you the truth because that’s what friends do.” Of course, she also taught me to be kind and tactful, but I learned an invaluable life lesson that day. She died not long after that but she lives with me still, as you can see.
