The three “wise men” is English for “magi.” Magi were from Persia and surrounding areas – all very much east of Bethlehem. Actually, the number three is not Biblical. All Mathew says is that magi came from the east. Magi were astrologers. One of the most realistic explanations I ever saw is that they were not following a star but an astrological chart that said that on a certain date an exceptional baby would be born. That would explain how Herod knew about it as he had his own court astrologers.

Call me a pedant but… if they came from the East then they are traveling West, so how are they following a star in the East?

I’m confused. What’s a “CAV”?

Of course, as James May said: “Well, I SURE wasn’t expecting THAT!”

Coming from the East?
Were they the lucky few who got to stop over in Tokyo for a week’s leave on their way to the combat zone?
