Sakura is right. I love used books and book stores. While I do have a tablet I still buy print magazines and hard bound books.

Friends of the Library is a great place. Bring in your old books to share. You get new (to you) books for a pittance and you help the library at the same time. Bring them back when you’re done and buy some more. I rarely spend more than $5.

And before they do, they get to travel and see the world, meet new people ..

This makes me think about all those sad used books that I see in front of a thrift shop, that I pass on my drive home, from work…I just want to rescue them all!

Those are all of the untrainable brainless ones that pee on the rug and bark all night.

Used bookstores make me HAPPY! All those books getting another chance to be read, rather than gathering dust on someone’s shelf!

When my father was in London with the Red Cross (during the Blitz, no less!) he visited a book shop and rescued some WONDERFUL books, which he brought back with him. They were part of my childhood and I inherited his love of books. I have also rescued some wonderful books. My pride right now is a copy of Oliver Twist that’s over 100 years old. Love ’em all!

Buy a lot of used books from Alibris….and have for many years from other used book stores….
