I thought the waistcoat and pocket watch combo was Edwardian, which is the look that the Teddy Boys wanted to imitate. I don’t remember Mods with either waistcoats or pocket watches, back in the 1960s! (The oher boy’s tight jacket and the girl’s “Twiggy” eyes were pretty authentic Mod looks, though.)

What? The whole pocketwatch deal is probably about as traditionally British as you could get! Why would he have a problem with that?
Also, conformity is boring. Everybody’s exactly the same to each other, no fun at all.
