When a cat drinks, it draw up a column of water with the tip of its tongue and bites off the top of the column just before it drops back neatly into a bowl. Dogs are messy drinkers; they slurp.

Typical dogs. Ate it so fast. Never had a chance to taste it.

We got a cat that scoops the water with her paw. She was an orphan. Guess it was because she didn’t have a mama to teach her the proper way to drink.

I’ll bet it didn’t even taste like ‘cat.’

See if you can climb a tree yet, or if you need another bowl.

Just depends on the cat. I have an electric waterer that pours out a small stream into the bowl and one of the younger cats will spend hours biting and playing with that stream. Another one of my cats can create a foot and a half wide splatter zone when he drinks from a regular bowl.
