This is in regard to another reader’s comment above.I’m new, so pardon me but did Annie retaliate against another child verbally abusing her by physically beating him? She has certainly been guilty of some unkind comments toward others in my brief time here. She can not simultaneously react to unkind comments with physical attack and expect that disrespectful comments by her should just be accepted. that kind of does make her a bit of a bully. It seems that there might be a bit of hypocrisy here. (Now being somewhat new, perhaps I have not had the opportunity to bond, as it were, with Annie and don’t feel the need or desire to come to her defense because of her other good qualities or any mitigating circumstances, so bear that in mind perhaps I am missing something but loyalty to her or any child can not be unconditionally given. If your child or a child you like misbehaves, don’t defend that misbehaviour because you generally like that child. Love the child but correct the child. I teach and there is almost nothing worse than a parent or guardian whose little darling can do no wrong, contrary to all evidence of said wrong.)

I’m glad the story line hasn’t died yet. There is a chance that Lila will enter the 21st century and relent allowing her to box.
