It’s time to start fundraising. Dana should let some of her school friends share the do-gooder feeling in exchange for money. Some of them would appreciate the feeling, as well as the tax write-off.
Um, is that really the smartest thing for Marcy to do, especially since she didn’t get the OK from the Board or Dana first? In other circles she’d be fired for posting an article that was critical of her employer.
Who was it who said “All publicity is good publicity?” Besides, the best solution would be to invite that critic to visit the facility and post a retraction – which would be meaningless if it came from any other source.
Marcy understands the concept that “there is no such thing as bad press” and though that is not true (just ask Roseanne Barr), someone criticizing a hospital for helping the destitute is going to look worse than the hospital.
HA! I LOVE how this is showing a generation gap. We have the young woman who thinks something bad said about her on social media is the end of the world and she has to do everything to reverse it, and an older woman who knows that in this context it’s harmless and is only going to get more attention for their cause.

She could blow through her her entire inheritance in a year or two.

So Marcy’s hoping people read the article and see how ridiculous it is for themselves? Sorry, but I don’t have that much faith in people anymore.

Dana needs to trust Marcy.

How will they know the people are homeless? Many people will fake it to get free medical care.

Marcy doesn’t seem to be working with patients since she got this job. I thought she wanted to still treat patients.
