A day or two perhaps, but this long? My mother would have had me sleeping out with them and my chickens. The chickens of course because they would have helped clean them up, minus those she canned and froze for the holidays.
That’s funny. Speaking of pumpkins: we throw the used up pumpkins and decorative gourds on the compost heap and later the leaves go on top, and every spring we end up with a pumpkin/gourd patch. We haven’t had to buy them for years. When the grandkids come over, they get to pick them and take them home.
