I am proud of Hubbs. He knows how to stand up for those he cares about. For those astonished as to why he can’t tell, consider this: Before, I thought Elly had a Falsetto voice (maybe even Soprano. Y’know: girly-girl). But I’m thinking she actually has more of an alto voice. Not low enough to be husky, but not high enough to not be androgynous. I’m still of the opinion that Hubbs thinks she’s trans and is fully accepting of that trying to help her “conversion” to be a man. It’s heartwarming if it were true, but…well, either way they both win.
Well techically they didn’t call “Al” a little girl, just the way she runs. Hubbs really needs to learn to listen better between this and mishearing “El” as “Al”.
These guys need to keep some tranquilizers around for when Hubbs gets like this, it’s nice he’s defending his friend, but he maybe over-reacting just a little bit…
Shouldn’t Hubbs be taking this as a moment to teach “Al” to stand up for “himself” instead of taking matters into his own hands? Hubbs has been building her up, shouldn’t part of that training involve being able to standup for yourself to others?
What hath Sedine wrought? Ellie is as far off base as Hubbs, who best be careful or he’ll burst the Duke. Ellie would be foolish to make a move, for Hubbs would surely misconstrue an advance by “Al.” Meet him at Chix n’ Wings, Ellie, where you’re sure to have the upper hand. Assets on display at a better field of play. First round’s on me.
As much as I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this epic arc (and when Hubbs and Ellie are finally a couple, they’ll out-bond Superglue), I was just wondering if we’ll ever get to see the scenario that ran through Sedine’s mind when she imagined Gabby 17 years from now, as a hottie chasing Sam. Maybe in a dream/nightmare sequence. I can see Sedine picturing a future where she’s chasing after the interloper while waving a stick, and screaming “HUSSY!”.
What needs to happen is for Al to have to leave the city, and tell Hubbs that his sister Ellie will replace him, and that she is a tomboy who can play football as well as he can.

No, I think he only sees you as a good American football player, a valuable resource for the team.

Those ears really do need to twitch.
Particularly when he’s angry. ✨AnyFace about 6 years ago
Had to go to Webtoons in order to actually see it, but …
A bare minimum of ten players being bawled out by “The Hubbs” in Panel #1. ✨❤️✨AnyFace about 6 years ago
GoComics really does need to up the resolution on these. ✨

Hey, in the first panel, if you imagine away the sleeve lines on Hubbs shirt, it looks like he’s not wearing one.
Sputter uh, not that I notice these kinda things or anything.
