    Tony’s QOTD: Handy?

Yep, and sometimes my wife says that I’m too handy. ;-)

Remember, if the women don’t find you handsome they should at least find you handy.

Sure, I can call a plumber as well as anyone else.

The person who installed that knew what he was doing. In our house, the pipes are way toward the back of the cabinet. These would be a breeze to work on.

Another one word Question from Tony… sigh….

    He asks, “Handy?”

Yeah, as a matter of fact, I’d like to think I’m handy…

Handy to have around, maybe…. handy with a fact, or a turn of phrase, maybe a rhyme if you’re stuck for one….

I’m even handy with a stove… cooking on it, not fixing it.

Other things, too … I mean, you don’t need the whole list.

But I will tell you…. taking pipes apart isn’t on it.

I can put a new flapper in the toilet…. reattach the chain….

adjust the float if it still has one…. but most don’t.

I used to be able to do more, till they changed all the innards.

I also used to fix dripping sinks, when it was a matter of rubber washers, sometimes o-rings….

    I even have (someplace) a re-seating tool… with which you can easily…. um… make everything worse…

so you go to the hardware store and find out it’s easier just to buy a new seat.

My father didn’t know tools, or plumbing, or any of that…

one time in my 30’s I  fixed his dripping bathroom sink…

He started calling me Rosie the Riveter. (go figure)

But I never did pipes, and new sinks have different parts….

so I guess my “riveting” days are over.

Yes, I AM handy. I installed my own garbage disposer, replaced my toilets, ran electric wire out to the garage and then installed a garage door opener. There are many other things I have done, too many to list. By the way, I am a woman.
