In this age of banks closing, merging, or merely changing account types, I’ve had to switch several times…

And I’ve learned that when you order checks on a new account, you should append another digit to the beginning of the check sequence…

or if allowed, just make up a four digit number to start on.

 

I rarely use checks these days, so if I let them start with # 101, I’d look like a new account holder practically forever.

Merchants prefer to accept Check # 6283, even if they don’t know it’s #102 (the second check.)

Is it my imagination? Is that drill getting bigger with each passing day?

I take it Grandma still hasn’t discovered her table.
