That thing does have some collector value, especially if it works.

There ought to be a sign on that dumpster: “Youth Recreation Area”!

Fortunately, none of the stuff she finds works (I hope).

Hmm. I thought that might be a bit early, but it turns out Black & Decker made their first commercial power drill in 1916.

I think Agnes’s talent is and future lies in dumpster diving.

I wonder how the 1927 model is different from the more mundane 1929 model. Maybe Agnes can donate it to the museum and claim a tax deduction for the money she (doesn’t) make.

The quarter inch drill my dad had when I was a kid in the 1950s was about that vintage. It had a bare metal case and an ungrounded, unpolarized plug. It occasionally gave you a nice shock. I miss it.

@mfrasca: Sounds like the Zen-Yoga sect my niece is mixed up with!

Agnes is somewhere around 10 years old…

She has a wild imagination, no computer, phone, or any other sort of internet access, and she obviously hasn’t been to the library since climbing out of that dumpster.

C’mon… she wouldn’t know a 1927 drill if it bit her.

I don’t want to poke holes in anything, but this one doesn’t look a bit like the one neatslob posted.

Probably much more recent, and not working, or why did somebody chuck it?

Sorry for throwing in a few really lame puns, but, sadly, I’m just wired to give things a twist…

    You know the drill.
