Book of Nancy: “If you want others to hold you in esteem you first must hold yourself in esteem. In order that they know that you know, explicit reminders of how great you are may be necessary. Negative reactions to these reminders are attributable to jealousy of your general awesomeness and should be disregarded.”
Nancy… no, no, no. We (the readers) understand you think this way. But…. saying that out loud to your friends…… bad idea. Unfortunately, your thought bubble in the last panel is showing you misunderstand. You are smarter than that.
“If you think about something at three o’clock in the morning and then again at noon the next day, you get different answers.” – Charles Schulz
An admiral in the first World War woke up in the middle of the night with an idea that, it seemed to him, would eliminate warfare. He wrote it down feverishly and went back to sleep the sleep of the just. Next morning, he looked at it. It said “THE SKIN IS TOUGHER THAN THE BANANA.”
Yesterday’s strip was great. The visuals actually added to the story. The friendship between Nancy and Sluggo was on display. The twist at the end was light hearted.
Today . . . nope, back to the usual junk.
The “artwork” adds nothing to the story. No sign of Sluggo. No sign of Aunt Fritzi. The punchline was lame.
No, can’t say it has happened to me yet in 61 years. And I am a rather creative person. But I did think I had a profound dream however upon awakening nothing profound was to be had there.

I stand by every idea I’ve ever had at 3am, especially when that idea has been that I don’t really need sleep yet.
And the ones that require trips to Costco for supplies.

The number one mistake that braggarts make- actually believing that bragging inspires respect in all.

3 ㏂ is in the morning, so should not that be “when you wake up again later that morning”?
