There is a concept called Servant Leadership: you lead by serving. Anyone can point the direction and while that is a necessary part of leadership, it is not enough. Successful leadership is helping the followers to attain their goals in accomplishing the team mission. Make them successful and proud of their accomplishments. The leader can only be as successful as his followers.

In other words, dictatorships can only work for so long.

Translated into business sense: find out who makes money for you and make it possible for them to do their work.

Which way did they go? How many of them were there? I must find them for I am their leader.

And the point is………?

A lot of people think leaders make a lot of followers. Real leaders create more leaders.

They they go. I must run after them and catch them for I am their leader!

There is a concept called Servant Leadership.Simply put, it is leading by serving. If you make your subordinates (followers) look good, they will make you look good. Make it possible for them to be successful.

A good leader is part quarterback (calls the shots) and part blocking back (removes obstacles) and that means sometimes taking the hits.
