I retired from a company that soon “merged” (a takeover, really) with another. The first thing they did was eliminate health care for all retirees. Bastards.
Seems there should be a reg that requires companies that either buy, take over, or merge with other companies to maintain retiree and other benefits. But then making money by manipulating the financial structure is simple math to them. Employee care is just not convenient.
