Now there’s an aura.

The last name could be coincidence, but I suspect it is not. This isn’t a casual encounter with Ms. O’Malley.

A fire in the heart? Must be good as we know what a cold heart means.

That’s O’Malley’s MOTHER!!

…Is that a faint smile I see on the elder Mal in that first panel?

So glad we are getting to see the past of O’Malley. He is one of my favorites.

For some reason Mrs O’Malley looks like present-day Judy Collins to me.

So the young Jack has never seen an aura like hers before, and our O’Malley is now remembering that things got better when she came into his life.

I like how Harry can see the auras. It definitely helps her better understand the Jack O’Malley we know and love.

Well, this is an interesting development. Possible gruff-but-loving rescuer/caretaker/mother figure for the “weird” orphan boy.
