I remember when we lived in fort Monmouth NJ, and there was no air conditioning. We had a fan that was huge on the second floor. I would guess it was 4 feet or more across. It was embedded in the wall much like this cartoonâs drawing. When it started it would open up flaps that kept out the rain and it produced a lot of air movement through the house.
I have an old house with one of those â a 4 ft wide attic fan. On a dry day â open windows in every room and get that thing going, it really freshens up the whole house. Just make sure the window screens are in place.
And itâs a great burglar deterrent. If they happen to walk up to this side of the house, they immediately get sucked in through the bladesâŠand, you knowâŠ

Itâs not every house that comes with its very own built-in wind tunnel.

A spinning fan can sometimes be an opaque window. I am not sure a bedroom would be a good place for it from the neighbors point of view.

Hope thereâs a screen there, or they will have big-time bug problems.
