This is why I often use a pair of pliers to hold the brad or nail in place while hammering.
Only done something like that once. You learn a painful lesson very quickly. Resealing a paint tin using a rubber mallet & I can still see my finger about to be whacked. Have no excuse it was a really dumb thing to do.
A nail in the wall is worth 2 in the hand.

He can keep going if he just turns over his hands and uses the other side……. 8^)
