I remember getting handfuls of shelled peanuts too. Even the odd apple. They went straight into the ‘D’ pile when I catalogued my stash.

We were poor enough that raisins were acceptable..

Still better than candy corn.

Better than grapes.

“raisins!?…you son of a…” didn’t get past the censors.

Would have been way funnier if she had said, “Raisins, raisins? You know this means WAR!!”
