I think the inference here is that network TV IS dead and death has come to claim it. All the streaming services have contributed but for my part the proliferation of reality tv shows has been the nail in the coffin.
I wish vapid network TV could die, but with an installed base of affiliates it’s not that easy. A few years ago, two lesser TV networks merged into one: WB and UPN into CW. They really should have called it WC, which better describes television, but whatever. So one less network was an improvement, but Rupert Murdoch couldn’t leave well enough alone and he created MyNetworkTV to scoop up the affiliates that became available in the aftermath. In Seattle, this only lasted one year before that station banished the network programming to late night and filled prime time with Simpsons and South Park reruns.

At $80/month for cable, good riddance.

I guess I’m going to buck the trend. I watch TV and network TV at that. There are fewer shows than in the past.

Appropriately, the last thing Lio watched on it was Pushing Daisies.

Your presence is premature, Grim Reaper. Network TV is not yet dead; just weakening and ill….
But your concern is noted and appreciated.
