Half-truth, at best. Based on current projections, we’ll spend $47 trillion in the next 10 years with the system we have now. Medicare-for-all would REDUCE costs by $16 trillion over the same period.

Oh don’t worry, an executive order will take care of all that.

Mr. Summers apparently sent this out before checking to see the latest Republican line. “The Democrats want to take away your pre-existing conditions coverage! We will protect you!”. Or, he just has a weird sense of humor.

Dana Summers, you’re just lying here. The $30+ trillion figure isn’t the new/added cost of “Medicare for All,” but the total cost, pretty much what we’re spending on health care now. Medicare isn’t free, but carries costs of thousands of dollars per year for most beneficiaries in premiums, copays, deductibles and exclusions. Democrats haven’t proposed free health insurance for all, and rational economic analysts expect that, for example, employers who currently subsidize private health insurance for their employees would provide comparable subsidies toward Medicare-for-all premiums. Why, Mr Summers, are you so afraid of honest discussion of important issues?

    Dishonest Dana Summers.

Well, you know Republicans. Tell an outright lie until you get caught and then call it false news, that you never said any such thing.

Another Trump Disciple showing off their knowledge of not only medicine, but economics.

The entire concept of businesses NOT having to provide health benefits is totally unknown to Trump Disciples.

I mean, who knew that either one of them was complicated?

VA with the new “choice” program is providing better service in remote areas like where I live, and I see my local doctor, and chiropracter. VA negotiates drug and supply prices and pays less than one-third the Congressionally mandated ripoff Medcare/Medicaid Republicans demanded in NOT negotiating prices. For example, my last set of hearing aids were the first I got from VA, my old audiologist got them and fitted them to me, and noted that VA paid less for two aids, than HIS WHOLESALE COST for ONE! Government, with a large base of users can negotiate fare cheaper costs. Also, as there are problems with some VA hositals, others, like in Portland Oregon aligned with Oregon Health Sciences University, provide some of the most advanced care in the WORLD, not just the nation!

I’ve had some concerns with their “shrinks” since 95 when I got registered after leaving service as a ’Nam vet in ’69. But medical, and supplies, like my meds, have been EXCELLENT.

We need to fix the flat tires that are still around, NOT junk the whole bus so many depend on!!

Yes, Medicare for all is a GOOD way to go, but it too, as I noted, needs some work. And it’s a lot less costly than corporate medicine.

……Um…..What is the cost of healthcare NOW? 31 Trillion is a big number but is is More or less than what we pay? Stop trying to scare us with big numbers with no base line to Compare it with.

I’d rather have healthcare than contribute to the Saudi GoFundMe project to kill innocent people in Yemen.

Did Summers get an Economics Degree from Trump University? Perhaps that is why he connects the growing Federal Deficit to the cost of health care….

Republicans only care about deficits when there’s a Democratic president. Establishing universal health care (especially something modeled on Medicare) would: a. give everyone health care (duh) and b. save a good deal of the money now being paid for said care. Do you prefer a benefit for all citizens of the US or additional corporate welfare that puts more money in the pockets of the richest of the rich? Repeal the tax “cuts” and fund healthcare!

Sorry, we can’t afford to give you health care so you’ll just have to die. Please do so quietly.
