My stepsisters’ kids in my case (I’ll be meeting my brother’s son next week; his first Christmas is also kind of his one-month birthday).

We’re getting into this stage. Toddlers, kids, dogs, boyfriends, it’s gonna be a blast! And we’ll really enjoy the quiet afterwards.

    From today’s Comics Curmudgeon:

This is something you don’t usually hear me say, but I like the cut of this elder she-plugger’s jib! I particularly like that you can tell that her grandchildren left literally minutes ago and she’s already wining out. Is she going to bother picking up any of their junk before getting blotto? She sure isn’t! Is she worried about drinking red wine while wearing white pants? She gives not a single solitary [spit]! This ecstatically drunk grandma is definitely one of my top ten pluggers of the year!

This plugger could not enjoy her wine until all those things were picked up and all fingerprints were wiped away. However, it never took long and then the wine was a nice reward. All my grandkids are now too old for all that, but none of them have produced any children of their own yet, so I will have a few years to enjoy my solitude.

It seems that, these days, grand kids are left with grand parents more than previous generations. Pubbing, clubbing………
