A foldaway tub could be handy; in the bathing space you could take a shower without having to clamber into and out of the tub (which can be a problem if you have knee or back issues), but if you want to soak or take a bath you could just lower the tub.

That bathtub probably failed because the family didn’t like standing around when somebody was taking a bath.

Tubs can be used for a makeshift bed too. Problem is if someone doesn’t see you there and turns the water on!!
